Just out: Exposing the Nation

3.3.2026
We congratulate Matthias Pfaller, Assistant Curator of Photography at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, on the publication of his book »Exposing the Nation: Histories of Photography in Chile, 1860–1960.« It has just been released by the University of Pittsburgh Press in the series »Illuminations: Cultural Formations of the Americas.«
The book is based on a dissertation that Matthias Pfaller successfully defended in 2021 at the Folkwang University of the Arts, where he was awarded a PhD in the field of Theory and History of Photography. The dissertation was supervised by Steffen Siegel and Andrés Mario Zervigón of Rutgers University in New Jersey.
Detailed information about the book are availble here.
